Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Shakedown Street > Red Rocks June 14th 1984

For the second time in two years, i stand corrected. My memory is of a compelling daytime Black Peter and a US Blues closer which indeed was the September 6th, 1985 performance, not the June 14th, 1984 second set. My reversed memory of 1984 & 1985 is probably due to the lack of remarkable musical performances those two years.

The following afternoon September 7th, 1985 was the better show of the run. And because of the riff raff in downtown Morrison during and after the June 1984 run the City placed a 2pm start time and curfew on the 1985 shows.

We were about twenty rows back from the stage on June 12th, 1984 it was Game 7 of the NBA finals, Celtics vs Lakers. I brought along a Sony watchman to view the game during the first set while it was still daylight and lost my bet when Bird & company stuck it to the Lakers. If you weren't in the first forty rows at Red Rocks you really weren't at the show.

Anyway, the June 14th 1984 second set posted in this thread is pretty decent music for 1984.

Just sayin ...
